Attendance: Because dance experiences cannot be replaced by reading a book, attendance is crucial for learning. Attendance will be reflected in grades as well as citizenship, and the consequences can either be rewarding or detrimental
Students must provide an excellent learning environment for those around them. Student must make an effort to learn. Students are expected to be on time, respectful and listening to directions carefully, and follow all classroom rules. Students will be awarded 20 points every class period/ rehearsal if they are present and actively participating. Points will be deducted for tardiness, excessive talking, failure to dress, and lack of participation, or failure to follow classroom rules. Performances and Dress rehearsals will be worth double the points. |
Absences and Make up work
The student is responsible to find out what was missed and how it may be made up. Students are responsible to learn any choreography before the next rehearsal. Excessive absences may cause the dancer to be removed from a routine. Students with mild injuries or illnesses are expected to dress and dance to a safe degree. Only under extenuating circumstances will students be allowed to sit out from class and complete an alternate assignment. Communicate with Ms. Paulsen often about sicknesses and absences asap! |
